Last Engineering

LastMaker

The process of producing or modifying last is extremely simple. Even inexperienced users can work with confidence after only a few hours of training. LastMaker produces last models much faster than is possible by hand, allowing you to get the digital data to your last manufacturer quicker, ensuring a faster turnaround time.

All modifications to the last are based on accurate measurements of the foot. Model size or graded last data can be output for on-site machining, or sent to your last manufacturer digitally. Scanned foot data imported as a template can be used to modify existing conventional or fashion lasts. The data can be ouput for machining a custom-made pair of lasts.

ShoeDesign

ShoeDesign is easy to learn and use so even the most complex designs can be produced within hours. Producing photo-realistic 3D designs allow you to make decisions faster, without the need to produce costly samples.

SoleEngineer

Simple-to-use, and easy to learn, SoleEngineer produces conventional, sports and performance sole units very rapidly, allowing you to get the finished sole or set of graded soles to the manufacturer faster. Advanced engineering tools ensure your design is accurate and meets the required tolerance, and working with an accurate 3D model throughout ensures that the final sole unit exactly matches the original last and design features. Sole moulds can be machined directly using Delcam PowerMILL, a powerful CAM solution that can interface to any single or multi-axis milling machine.

ShoeStyle

ShoeStyle has exactly the same product make-up of ShoeDesign without the design functionality. The primary function of ShoeStyle is for the creation or aesthetic editing of 3D style lines directly on the last, which are then flattened with the last forme for 2D pattern development using Delcam CRISPIN Engineer Pro.

Engineer Pro

Engineer Pro lets you produce 2D sample and graded footwear patterns for manufacturing in the fastest possible time, whilst helping you to manage your tooling costs. Advanced tools like 'Edge Templates' cut your pattern development time dramatically, improving throughput and reducing time to market.

ShoeCost

Simple-to-use, and easy to learn, ShoeCost produces a quick accurate costing for your footwear sample and production footwear. Parallelogram, SLM and Collective leather material assessments with user defined coefficients provide the cost or an average skin size, whilst synthetic material layouts provide actual costs for sheet and roll material usage. Components can also be added to provide a detailed Bill of Materials. Labour and Overhead costs can also be added to produce a total footwear costing.

TechPac

TechPac is an extermely easy to use documentation solution for producing Technical Packages for footwear manufacturing operations and assembly sequences. A series of diagrams can be created to provide a pre-lasting assembly guideline for the factory operator.

Each diagram can provide technical detailing about the upper component, the type of machine to use and the operation sequence using tables, text and images. Technical legends can also be inserted to describe the details of a skiving or closing operation. HTML or PDF reports can be produced for the complete technical packge, by department or individual operation. There is also additional functionality to assess and calculate the visible material areas of a shoe.

PatternCut

PatternCut is an extremely simple to use nesting and cutting solution that can produce your sample or graded production patterns from paper, card or plastic. The efficient nesting software helps save material costs especially when cutting or routing plastics or pattern board for producing markers or brass bound patterns. PatternCut interfaces to many types of cutting table, so your older cutting hardware could be utilised.

KnifeCut

KnifeCut is an easy to use nesting solution used solely with our Prospector series Projection Cutting Systems to produce upper components from leather and synthetic materials. CRISPIN Knifecut provides the functionality to manually nest upper component pieces directly onto the leather skin through a projection system. The cut components can be used for both sample or production footwear.

Hardware

Our hardware solutions provide the means to input and output data into and out of our footwear CAD products.

The input of standards for a stand-alone 2D pattern development (Delcam CRISPIN Engineer Pro) or costing (Delcam CRISPIN ShoeCost) is achieved using a digitising tablet which are available in A3 and A2 sizes

The scanning of a foot to produce custom-fit lasts is achieved using a 3D laser foot scanner, that can produce scan data of the foot and up the leg to a height of 18cm. Wooden design lasts or Polyethlene production lasts* can also be scanned for importing into CRISPIN LastMaker for last engineering, CRISPIN ShoeDesign for 3D footwear design, visualisation and flattening, or CRISPIN ShoeMaker Pro for 3D concept footwear design, modelling and sole unt engineering.

Last, sole and heel scanning can also be achieved using a stand-alone 3D laser scanner. The scan data can be imported into CRISPIN ShoeDesign and CRISPIN ShoeMaker and used directly in the designing process.

Lasts can also be digitised using a MicroScribe 3D Digitiser to produce a digital 3D design last for use in CRISPIN ShoeDesign for 3D footwear design, visualisation and flattening.

The output of pattern parts can be achieved using one of several cutting table solutions. The size and specification of cutting table and tool head can vary according to your requrements.

We can provide cutting tables for producing pattern parts from paper or pattern card using a knife and pen tool head, from pattern board or pastic using a router tool, or from leather and other footwear materials using a projection nesting a cutting system (CRISPIN Prospector) with an oscillating knife, pen and multi-punch tool head.

** It may be necessary to fill tack holes or gaps in the last and paint or spray the last surface white to aid the scanning process.
